Developing Technologies (DT) works to alleviate long-term chronic poverty in developing countries through the design, development and transfer of technology that is appropriate to the needs of poor communities.

The need is great: 3.5 million people die every year from water-borne diseases, over 500,000 women die in pregnancy and childbirth and four million babies don’t live beyond four weeks. Yet almost all of these deaths are easily preventable.

Smiling faces in Kenya

DT’s aim is to meet these real needs by creating change that lasts. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible to maximise our impact. DT has successfully trialled technology in eight different countries and has a number of projects in development.

How you can make a difference

DT’s project development could not have been achieved without the generous support of donors. We need your help to continue developing our technology and train groups overseas to help even more communities. There are many ways of helping out: you can either donate or get involved in one of our challenge events (such as parachuting!) or organise your own event.

A number of projects are finishing their full implementation phase and are ready for wider dissemination. At this critical time that’s why we need your help.
